Joel Kruger, age 64 of Sibley, IA died Friday, August 30, 2019, near May City, IA, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.
Joel Michael Kruger was born July 21, 1955 to Delbert “Dutch” and Mary Louise “Liz” (Helmers) Kruger, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa. He was raised on a farm near Allendorf, and spent his early childhood years attending country school. Joel graduated from Sibley High School in 1972.
Joel was married in 1983, and to this union three children were born, Amanda, Ryan, and Kyle. Joel later divorced.
Joel worked many years at various farming and trucking jobs, most recently working at Sunrise Farms, hauling feed.
He was a member of the Osceola County Sportsmens Club, and a member of ABATE (American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education). Joel was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed bowling, and achieved three perfect games in his lifetime. He loved his grandchildren and will be remembered as having a heart of gold.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Amanda (Matt Galvin) Kruger of May City, IA, Ryan (Taylor) Kruger of Spencer, IA, and Kyle Kruger of Milford, IA; eight grandchildren, Marissa, Adelynn, Opal, Joshua, Connor, Avery, Ava, and Aniyah; siblings, Thomas (Heather) Kruger of South Dakota, Beth (Glen) Kirkpatrick of Clear Lake, IA, and Nancy (Paul) Wick of Everly, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mary Louise Kruger.
