Lori married Edward Holstad on June 7, 1952.  Eddy preceded her in death at the early age of 39.  She lovingly raised three daughters, Nancy, Cindy, and Cathy, who have remained by her side as she walked the pathway of memory loss.  Her daughters, their families, and extended families were the sunshine of her life.  At Highview Hills, she was known for reading the daily newspaper to the other memory care residents every morning.  Her smiles and kindness warmed the lives of all who knew her.  She thoroughly enjoyed Side By Side choir, Memory Café, outings with her friends, and all the activities at Highview Hills.

Lori was born in George, IA and attended country school there.  She earned her business degree from the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and later attained her degree in library science.  She raised her family in Windom, MN, and worked as a librarian at Mountain Lake High School until her retirement. After retirement she lived in Mankato and Faribault where she loved to garden, played in the Senior Citizen Kitchen Band, and was an avid Gophers and Twins fan.  She loved caring for babies, and all of her grandchildren can attest she was the greatest grandma!  She cared for many family members during their illnesses where her compassionate spirit became so apparent.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, William & Henrika Vagts, Brothers, Vernon Vagts and Edward Vagts, Grandson Brent Glidden, Parents-in-law, Edward and Augusta Holstad, devoted sister and brother in laws who were also her best friends, Dulcie Vagts, Robert and Clarine Lee, Arleigh and Carol Holstad.

Left to cherish memories of Lori are her children, Nancy Glidden (Burnsville), Cindy (Franz) Boelter (Faribault), Cathy (Randy) Caviness (Burnsville), 7 grandchildren, Keith Glidden, Kevin (Kurra) Glidden, Grant (Julie) Boelter, Brett (Melody) Boelter, Bethany Boelter, Brady Caviness, Cally Caviness and 4 great grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Caiden, and Kendall, and many loving nieces and nephews.
