Marjorie O’Toole age 89 of Sibley died Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Country View Manor in Sibley.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 26, 2024 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley with Father Sunny Dominic, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew’s Cemetery at Sibley.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 25th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with the family present Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. A rosary service will take place at 5 PM prior to the visitation.
Marjorie O’Toole was born August16, 1935 in Ashton, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Margaret E. (Meinen) Hatting. She grew up in Ashton and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
On February 17, 1960, Marge was united in marriage to Donald O’Toole at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Pam, Colleen, Laura, and Tim. They made their home in Sibley. Don passed away December 3, 1996.
In the past, Marge worked for the dentist, Dr. Myron Zeigler, and spent some time working for the Sibley Community Schools. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge and Pinochle, and taking trips to the casino.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Pam (David) Braun of Sibley, IA, Colleen (Kevin) Trei of George, IA, Tim (Michelle) O’Toole of Willmar, MN; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Della (Robert) Wesselink of Decatur, IL; along with other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Margaret E. Hatting; husband, Donald; daughter, Laura O’Toole; siblings, John Hatting, Alma Hons, Leonard Hatting, Clarence Hatting, Eldon Hatting, Elda Keeton, Andrew Hatting, and Elaine Wellendorf.
