Pauline Hofman, age 82 of Sanborn, IA, passed away at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, IA on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone United Reformed Church in Sanborn, IA. Rev. Daniel Donovan will officiate. Visitation will be at the Sanborn Funeral Home in Sanborn from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9th, with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn, IA.

Pauline Mary Hofman, daughter of Peter and Johanna (Rynders) Prince, was born September 17, 1931 at Lebanon, IA in Sioux County. She spent her childhood years in the Sanborn, IA area and received her education at Sanborn Christian and Western Christian Schools.
On March 16, 1951, Pauline was united in marriage to Dick S. Hofman at Sanborn, IA. They made their home on a farm near Sanborn where they raised their twin daughters, Donna, and Kathryn. After 50 years of farming south of the Sanborn Golf Course, Dick and Pauline retired to Sanborn.
Pauline enjoyed everything nature provided, especially watching all the different birds that came in and out her backyard. Leisure time was also spent reading a good book. She was a member of the Cornerstone United Reformed Church in Sanborn. In 2013, Pauline moved to the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, passing away at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, IA on April 1, 2014 at the age of 82.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Dick Hofman; her daughters: Donna Hofman and Kathryn Hofman, both of Sanborn; one brother, Donald (Marilyn) Prince of Grand Rapids, MI; one sister, Viola Wolthuizen of Sanborn; one sister-in-law, Lucille Hofman of Sanborn; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
