Raphael “Ray” Portz, age 80 of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his daughters home in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
His service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Bishop Walker Nickless and Fr. Siby Punnoose officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa with Military Graveside services by the Sheldon American Legion McGlothlen-Cowie Post #145 of Sheldon, IA
Visitation will be after 3:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2016 with the family present from 4:00 – 7:30 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa. A Christian Wake Service will be at 7:00 pm and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 pm; all at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa.
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa.
