Raychel Ruth Hughes age, 30, of Ashton, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa.
Her memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton, Iowa with Rev. Dan Kunnari officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation with the family present will be from 12 noon until the time of service at the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton, and will continue after the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
The Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Raychel Ruth Hughes, the daughter of Debbra (Byl) Hughes was born April 30, 1992 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Raychel grew up in Sioux Center where she attended school and graduated Sioux Center Community High School 2011. Raychel had worked for Casey’s General Store in Sheldon for 5 years; she was currently employed with Sekisui Aerospace of Orange City, Iowa as Quality Control. Raychel passed away at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa on Monday, February 6, 2023 reaching the age of 30 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Raychel was a member of the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton. She enjoyed camping, and spending time with her daughter riding 4-wheelers. She also enjoyed Switch games especially Stardew Valley, watching anime, playing games with family, and doing diamond art and puzzles. Her biggest dream was to buy a horse. Every Friday night, she and her brother JD would go grocery shopping together.
She is survived by her daughter, Eilla Hughes of Ashton; her mother, Debbra Hughes of Sheldon, Iowa; 2 sisters, Danélle (Dustin) Perry of Ashton; Nellie Hughes of Sheldon; a brother, JD Hughes of Sheldon; grandparents, Henry and Joan Byl of Sioux Center, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, John and Minnie Byl and William and Jeannie Terpstra.
