Sherry Lee Joy Poelstra, age 78, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.
Her memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa with Rev. Dave Van Kley officiating.

Sherry Lee Joy Poelstra, was born October 23, 1944 in Los Angles, California to Peter and Jessie (Vander Plaats) Sterk. Sherry grew up in the central California area where she received her education in elementary and high school, she went on to obtain her LPN working in the Home Health Care System for many years. She moved to Sheldon, Iowa when she was diagnosed with disabling health issues and has made Sheldon her home for the past 20+ years. She passed away on January 28, 2023, at the Sanford Sheldon Senior Care reaching the age of 78 years, 3 months and 5 days.
Sherry was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed craft work, working in her friend’s shop creating many different crafts, she also enjoyed cooking, baking and fishing.
Left to cherish her memory are two step children, Lori Forsyth of Oklahoma and Dan Poelstra of California; several grandchildren; and several friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Jessie Sterk; a brother, John and a sister, Geniel.
