Tracy Lane

Tracy LaneTracy Lane, age 39 of Sheldon, IA, passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA on Sunday, October 19, 2014.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers, IA, with burial at the Hospers Cemetery near Hospers.

Visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The Sanborn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for 39 year-old Tracy Lane of Sheldon.

Tracy Allen Lane was born December 12, 1974 at Ida Grove, Iowa to Robert and Carol (Neville) Lane. He spent his youth in the Storm Lake, Iowa area, graduating from Storm Lake High School. He spent the next four years living in Storm Lake where he met Jana Rose Steffen of Varina, Iowa. They were married on June 23, 2001.

Following their marriage, the couple lived in Hospers, Iowa, and then moved to Sheldon, Iowa where they were living at the time of his death.

Tracy was an avid NASCAR fan, as well as other racing events. He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing or just hanging around home tinkering with cars. Watching sports was also a favorite pastime. He loved animals and had a soft spot in his heart for little children. The thing Tracy enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Tracy passed from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 39.

He is survived by his wife, Jana Lane of Sheldon, Iowa; his parents, Robert and Carol Lane of Hospers, Iowa; two sisters: Nancy Lane and her special friend, Matt Summers of Hospers, Iowa, Nena and John Dailey of Quimby, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jon Steffen of Schaller, Iowa; and family friend, Travis Dailey of Cherokee, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: George and Dorothy Neville, and Manard and Elenor Lane; his aunt, Vicki Neville; his uncle, Danny Lane; and his mother-in-law, Judy Steffen.
