Because of the already wet field conditions and the projected forecast, the two brackets/pods for the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Softball Tournaments have been moved indoors to the American State Bank Complex in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Bracket play will remain on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2, 2024, with an adjusted time schedule listed below.
Top seed, and regular season champion, Northwestern will serve as one bracket host on the West Field at the ASB Complex (1,4,5,8 seeds), while second seed Midland will be the other bracket host on the East Field at the ASB Complex (2,3,6,7 seeds).
Games will begin at 11am on Wednesday, May 1. Games will be played every two hours and 15 minutes to allow for on-field warmups. Thursday play (May 2) will begin at 10am with the same allotted time between games.
Northwestern has secured the league’s first berth to the NAIA Opening Round, while the GPAC Tournament Champion will receive the second berth. If the Red Raiders win the GPAC Tournament, then the tournament runner-up will receive the second GPAC berth to the NAIA Opening Round. The two brackets will be double elimination, with the final the best two out of three. GPAC tie-breakers were used in the seeding process.
Saturday’s GPAC Championship Series location is to be determined if it will be played outdoors. If it is played outdoors, it will go to the highest seed remaining of the bracket winners.
