A Defender and a Red Raider earn GPAC Softball Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College Red Raider and a Dordt University Defender have earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, April 29th.

Kate Kralik of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Kralik, a senior from Indianola, Iowa, struck out 11 batters in a 3-0 week last week. She threw 14.0 innings in three starts, compiling an ERA of 1.50. Kralik is second in the GPAC with 135 strikeouts this season.  Northwestern secured the GPAC regular season title and number one seed in the conference tournament.

Brooke Rule of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week.  Rule, a senior from Brush, Colorado, stole four bases and batted .714 last week with eight runs scored. For the week she had a 1.14 slugging percentage in for Defenders wins to close the regular season.
