A Dordt Defender receives Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A Dordt Defender has been named a Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week as annoounced by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Wendesday, Sept. 18th.

The runner named was Corinne Braun. Braun, a freshman from Canton, South Dakota, won the individual title to lead the Defenders to a first-place finish at their home meet, the Sunflower Open, this past weekend. Running in her first collegiate race, Braun led from start to finish and crossed the finish line with a 5K time of 18:40. She became the first Dordt women’s runner to win on their home course since Olivia Couch in the 2019 GPAC Championship.
