Aiyegbeni Earns GPAC Men’s Track Honor

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 8-14, 2019. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2018-2019 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Track Events – Perkins Aiyegbeni, Northwestern College

Northwestern’s Perkins Aiyegbeni is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Aiyegbeni, a senior from Janesville, Wisconsin, won a pair of events and recorded a total of three top-five finishes at the Sioux City Relays last weekend. He won the 400m with a time of 48.96, second fastest in the GPAC to date. Aiyegbeni then anchored the winning 4×100 relay that finished with the top time in the conference (42.43), just missing the NAIA provisional mark. The relay time ranks 20th in the NAIA. Aiyegbeni also was on the third place 4×400 relay and was named the University/College Male MVP for the Sioux City Relays.
