Anderson To Play Volleyball At NWC

Lily Anderson of Cherokee has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next fall.

Anderson is a 5’7″ setter who recently completed an outstanding four-year career playing for the Washington High School volleyball team. Anderson put up 8.6 assists per set, second most in the Lakes Conference, and totaled 247 digs and 35 aces in leading her team to the class 2A regional final with a 29-7 record. She was named all-conference for the fourth straight year, earning first team honors as a junior and senior. Anderson was an all-Northwest Iowa team selection as a senior and is also a four-year letter winner in basketball, track and softball. A member of the National Honor Society, Anderson plans to major in education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Joel and Charity.

“Lily is the type of player who we love to have in our volleyball program,” said Northwestern head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “She is competitive, has a team-first mindset and helped her team to the regional final last fall. We are excited to welcome Lily to our campus and to our volleyball program.”
