Area State Cross Country Results

Fort Dodge Iowa — Near perfect weather greeted area cross country runners at the State Meet in Fort Dodge Saturday and they took advantage of it. In Class 2A Joe Anderson of George Little Rock Central Lyon was second in the boys field with a time of 16:22.2. Sheldon’s Eric Heibult was fifth in a time of 16.34. Reece Smith of Garner Hayfield Ventura was the State Champion in a time of 16:00.7. In the team totals it was  Tipton  winning at 72 followed by Bellevue at 100, Sioux Center third at 102 and George-Little Rock Central Lyon fourth in the state at 108.

In the boys 1A competition Sibley Ocheyedan was fourth in the state with a team total of 124. Madrid won the title at 63 followed by Calamus Wheatland at 111 and South Hamilton Jewel at 121. Individual top ten finishes included Will Roder of Gehlen third at 16:32. Grant Brouwer of Sibley Ocheyedan was seventh at 16:45.7.
