Orange City, Iowa — Josie Blankespoor has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next fall.
Blankespoor is a 5’11” outside/middle hitter who is in her fourth season playing for the Unity Christian volleyball team. Blankespoor is a three-time all-conference selection, including first team honors in 2015. This season, she averages a team-best 3.6 kills and 2.4 digs in leading the second-ranked Knights to a current 21-2 record. Blankespoor boasts a .323 hitting percentage and is third on the team with 36 blocks. Also a member of the all-Northwest Iowa Review team last year, Blankespoor helped lead the Knights to state tournament appearances both in 2014 and 2015. An outstanding student, Blankespoor plans to major in Business/Marketing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Darin and Denise.
“Josie is an explosive athlete who can attack in multiple zones across the net,” commented head Northwestern volleyball coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “She is a great fit for our offense due to her versatility. Josie is an excellent teammate who will be a blessing in many ways on our volleyball team and campus community.
