Central Lyon Girls Down Western

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Western Christian girls came up short in Class 2A Region 7 tournament action to #7 Central Lyon 70-50.

The Wolfpack started the game out leading 4-0 and 9-7 before Central Lyon went on a 16-3 run to end the first and led 23-12. The second quarter was back and forth but the Lions would push their advantage to 40-27 at halftime. Both squads would start the second half a little slow with turnovers before the Lions would become the aggressor and pushed their lead to 54-40 after three and would go on to the win 70-50 and advance in Class 2A Region 7 play.

The Lions put four players in double figures and were led by Hayden Heimensen with 18, Desta Hoogendorn off the bench with 16, 11 for Brooklyn Krull and 10 for Kaylee Davis. Lydia Van Kley led the Wolfpack with 16 points and Sienna Moss added 11.

Western Christian ends their season at 6-18 and the Lions improved to 20-2 and play Friday evening at 7 hosting Emmetsburg.
