Colyn Oostenink Joins Dordt Football Program

Colyn OosteninkSioux Center, Iowa — Colyn Oostenink, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Oostenink a 6-0, 195 pounder was a linebacker and fullback for the Wolfpack this season and earned all-district honors along with Academic All-State honors from the Iowa High School Football Coaches Association. Oostenink totaled 35 solo and 37 assisted tackles with four tackles for loss and three quarterback sacks and he picked off two passes.

Dordt College head football coach Joel Penner said, “We are thrilled to have Colyn join our school and program. We have had our eye on him since last spring and we admire the passion and intensity that he plays with. He has played for two state titles and won one at Western Christian. College programs that make historical improvements are often made up of recruits like Colyn who come from programs that have made history.”

Colyn is the son of Heath and Paula Oostenink of Hull, Iowa. He plans to study Accounting.
