Comets Roll to Substate

Sheldon Iowa — Boyden Hull got off to a quick start and never looked back as they won the 2A District 3 title Tuesday night with a 72-33 win over the Sioux Central Rebels. With the win the Comets are on to the Substate 1 game on Saturday at the MOC Floyd Valley Gym. It will be an all Siouxland Conference final as West Lyon got by Okoboji 68-63 to claim the District 4 title. Game time is set for 7:00 pm Saturday night and we’ll bring you the broadcast on KIWA FM 105.3.

The Comets got off to a 16-5 first quarter lead and were up 35-16 at halftime. At the end of three the lead was 63-24 as they went on to get their 20th win of the season 72-33. Boyden Hull got balanced scoring with four players in double figures. Keyton Moser scored a game high 18 points. Andrew Frick and Marcus Kelderman both added 13. Tanner Te Slaa joined them with 10 points. Sioux Central was led by Jacob Hargens with 9 points.

The Comets are 20-3 as they look to return to the State Tournament after reaching the 2A Championship game a year ago. Sioux Central ends the season at 14-10.
