Hull, Iowa — Boyden Hull defended the home court by taking a pair of games from Sheldon. The girls game went to the Comets 54-36 and the top ranked boys posted a 65-36 win.
Boyden Hull set the tone early with an 11-0 run to start the contest. At halftime Sheldon was within 34-19 and at the end of three the score was 47-25 as the Comets went on to get the win 54-36.
Marissa Pottebaum scored a game high 16 points with Leah Rozeboom netting 10. Sheldon was led by Brooklyn Grady with a 10 point night. With the win Boyden Hull is 10-9 on the year and 8-8 in the conference. Sheldon stands at 4-16 for the year and 3-13 in the SIouxland.
In the boys game it was tight through the first 20 minutes as the Comets led 17-14 at the end of the first quarter and Sheldon got to within 1 at halftime 24-23. A run at the end of the third quarter put Boyden Hull up 41-32 at the end of the quarter and a 14-4 run to start the fourth would put the game away.
Tanner Te Slaa had a game high 22 for the Comets with Marcus Kelderman adding 19. Sheldon was led by Shane Brouwer with 14 points. With the win Boyden Hull, Ranked #1 in Class 2A in Iowa remains unbeaten on the year at 18-0 and 15-0 in the conference. Sheldon is 8-11 for the season and 5-10 in the conference.
Up next for Sheldon is a home doubleheader on Friday with Sioux Center. The Comets will be at Okoboji.
