Sheldon Iowa — Boyden Hull swept a basketball doubleheader from Sheldon Friday night. the Comets won the girls game 69-38 and the boys game 63-39 at the Orina in Sheldon. Both teams are now off until after the holidays.
In the girls game the Comets led 25-16 at the end of the first quarter. Both teams were hot from behind the arc as they combined for 9 first quarter threes. The Comets had the edge with five while the Orabs pumped in four. Boyden Hull pushed the advantage to 48-23 at halftime. At the end of three the lead was at 65-31 with Boyden Hull going on to win 69-38.
Brooke Zylstra and Mallory Nilles each hit for a game high 21 points. Sheldon was led by Cassidy Bart with a 10 point night. Brooklyn Grady added 9 points.
With the win Boyden Hull is off to a 6-3 start both on the year and in the conference. Sheldon finishes the first half at 2-7 for the year and in the Siouxland.
In the boys game a 10-0 run by the Comets set the tone for the rest of the game as they were up 18-8 at the end of the first quarter. At halftime the lead was 32-8 as they get the win 63-39.
Boyden Hull got a game high 16 points each from Spencer and Tanner Te Slaa. Sheldon was led by Mitchal Wolf with 11 and Tyler Lode with 10 points on the night.
With the win Boyden Hull hits the holiday break at 7-0 on the year and in the conference. Sheldon is 1-7 on the year and in the conference.
Sheldon returns to the floor on Friday the 4th of January in Sioux Center. The Boyden Hull boys return to action on Thursday January 3rd hosting MOC Floyd Valley. The girls will open a girls/boys doubleheader on Friday at the Boyden Hull gym on Friday the 4th hosting Okoboji.
