Alexis Conaway, the former MOC-Floyd Valley standout and Iowa State middle blocker and outside hitter is the newest contract player for LiigaPloki Pihtipudas in Finland.
Conaway’s senior season Iowa State was back in 2017, and she played and started in all 29 matches, taking part in 101 sets and started first nine matches of the season at middle blocker before moving over to outside hitter for the remainder of the season. Conaway finished season with 238 kills, 179 digs and 103 blocks, becoming the first Cyclone since Alison Landwehr in 2011 with a triple-triple season and had nine matches with at least 10 kills
Conaway was a state champion in three different sports at MOC-Floyd Valley, a four-year letterwinner at MOC-Floyd Valley for head coach Jon Mouw and two-time Elite All-State honoree, including winning the Gatorade Player of the Year award as a junior. Alexis helped lead the Lady Dutch to state titles as a junior and a senior and in her senior season, finished with 505 kills, 4.81 per set, at a .475 hitting percentage, recorded 59 aces, also posted 279 digs at 2.66 per set. In the state title win over Kuemper Catholic, Conaway posted a double-double with 19 kills at a .457 hitting percentage and 11 digs in three-set win, being named captain of the All-Tournament team. As a junior, She finished with 489 kills at 4.41 kills per set and a .435 hitting percentage. Conaway was a four-time All-State selection, earning third-team honors as a sophomore and honorable mention as a freshman.
Conaway studied kinesiology at Iowa State University.
