Vermillion South Dakota — USD Junior Darin Greenfield is one of 17 Missouri Valley Football Conference players named to the 2018 Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-America Second Team.
Greenfield, a former Sheldon Orab earned first-team all-MVFC honors and was named an All-American by four publications following last season.
The 6-3 235 pound junior defensive end has now garnered three preseason All-America honors this year having been named to the Stats FCS and Hero Sports squads along with a spot on the MVFC preseason all-defensive team.
The Buck Buchanan Watch List recipient tallied 59 tackles in 2017 with a team-best 19.5 tackles for a loss. That figure made him the leader in the Valley Conference and fifth nationally. His nine sacks ranked 18th nationally and second in the Valley.
