Brookings, South Dakota — The date for South Dakota State’s 2021 football season opener at Colorado State has been moved up one day. The game is now scheduled to be played Friday, Sept. 3 to accommodate a national television audience.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Mountain Time (8 p.m. Central) at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The change in schedule means the Jackrabbits will open on a Friday night for the second consecutive season. SDSU kicked off the modified 2020-21 campaign with a 24-20 victory Feb. 19 at Northern Iowa en route to winning a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference title and earning the top seed in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The Jackrabbits went on to advance to the FCS national title game earlier this month, dropping a 23-21 decision to Sam Houston.
