Defense Carries No. 4 UNI Football Team

Cedar Falls, Iowa — Defense has carried the UNI football team to a 2-1 start to the season.

The offense is averaging only 103 yards of rushing and most of that came in a week two win at Youngstown State. Also, quarterback Will McElvain is completing only 52 percent of his passes. Panther coach Mark Farley.

UNI is coming off a 20-10 win over Illinois State. The defense has not yielded a touchdown the last two game but Farley liked the way the offense finished against the Redbirds with the game on the line.

UNI is ranked fourth in the latest STATS FCS top 25. The Panthers visit 10th ranked Southern Illinois on Saturday.
