Dordt And Northwestern Baseball Collide For Four Games Friday And Saturday

Sioux Center, Iowa — The Dordt Defender baseball team will be hosting a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10 against Northwestern. The Friday baseball games will start at 4:00 pm and the Saturday contests will begin at 1:00.

Northwestern is 11-17 this season and 4-8 in the GPAC.  Northwestern went 3-1 in their last four games with Dakota Wesleyan on April 1 and 3.  The Raiders’ other win in league play is a 5-2 win over Morningside.

Colton Harold is batting .351 with 34 hits and eight homeruns with 34 runs batted in. Sutton Derr has 36 hits and is batting .346 ad Kip Cullinan is good for a .315 batting average and 29 hits.

Brady Roberts is 3-3 with a 3.43 earned run average in 42 innings and he has struck out 38 batters. Dylan Kirkeby is 2-1 with 31 strikeouts in 32 innings and Brett Shelton is 3-3 with 46 strikeouts in 38 innings with a 4.50 earned run average.

Dordt is 10-20 this season with a 3-0 GPAC mark.  Dordt lost a pair of close games to Morningside last Friday and then split with Jamestown on Saturday.

Logan Cline is batting .431 with 47 hits and has five homeruns with 24 runs batted in and 21 stolen bases. John Emerson is batting .413 with nine doubles and Chase Edwards is batting .371 with eight doubles and four homeruns and a team high 40 runs batted in.

Nick Yeager is 3-2 with a 4.96 earned run average in nine relief appearances and Gyengju Kim is 3-3 with a 4.07 earned run average and 63 strikeouts in 42 innings. Luke Turner has pitched 33 innings and has 35 strikeouts.
