Davenport, Florida — Dordt took the opener from Judson on Thursday, March 10 in Florida after a day off on Wednesday.
Dordt got two in the third with Logan Cline singling in Aaron Eshelman and Luke November knocked in Cline with a single of his own.
The teams were silent on offense until the seventh inning with Cline doubling in Cade Hollingsworth and Kaden Davis.
Judson got one run in the seventh but couldn’t sustain the threat.
Dordt had an 11-3 hits advantage with Cline going 3-4 with three runs batted in and two runs scored.
Dylan Stanley had a pair of singles and Aaron Eshelman had a single and a double.
Gyeongju Kim went the distance and allowed a run on three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
The Dordt Defenders allowed seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings and lost a 7-2 decision to Judson in game two of their doubleheader on Thursday, March 10
Dordt got two in the first inning when Logan Cline led the inning off with a double and then scored on a two-out double by Chase Edwards. Dylan Stanley kept the threat going with a single and a walk to Anthony Klinzing loaded the bases. JaeYoun Kim singled in Edwards to make it 2-0 and the inning ended with a lineout.
Judson put together a four run fourth inning to take the lead and then added three more in the fifth. Dordt got two runners on in the fifth but came up empty and was retired in order in the sixth and seventh for the 7-2 final.
Dordt was outhit 9-6 with Chase Edwards getting a double and single.
Logan Cline had Dordt’s other extra base hit.
Logan Horne took the loss and went three and two-third innings with five strikeouts and six hits given up and he was charged with four runs, one of which was earned.
Dordt used four pitchers and Jadon Vander Molen worke two and a third innings with one hit allowed and he struck out one.
