Dordt Hosts Jamestown For Defender Days

Dordt College hosts Jamestown on Saturday, October 20 in a 1:00 kickoff.

The Defenders are 4-2 this season after a 50-23 win over Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell.

Dordt has outscored teams 253-163 through six games. The Defenders are averaging 459 yards of offense with 380 allowed. Dordt gets 261 on the ground and 178 in the air.

Keithen Drury has 113 rushes for 486 yards and six touchdowns. Levi Schoonhoven has 65 rushes for 399 yards and six touchdowns. Brock Lamle has 217 yards rushing and has 56 pass completions with 13 touchdowns. Levi Jungling has 29 receptions for 20.2 yards and four touchdowns. Jake Dodge has 10 receptions for 12.5 yards per catch with two touchdowns. Matthew Oh-Slack has seven catches for 25.0 per reception and three touchdowns.

Connor Bosma has been in on 44 tackles while Nathan Kabongo has 36 with a pair of interceptions. Jordan Weiland has 38 tackles with 3.0 sacks and has an interception. Byker has 45 tackles with four for loss and an interception. Josh Mrazek has 11 tackles for loss and Julius Buchanan has 5.5 and David Kacmarynski has eight tackles for loss to go with three sacks and an interception. Tyson Dahlgrin has 3.5 sacks and Buchanan has three.

Jamestown is 2-5 this season and 1-4 in the GPAC with a 34-32 win over Briar Cliff to its credit. The other win was a non-conference decision over Valley City State by a 28-26 margin.

The Jimmies are averaging 156 yards on the ground and 148 yards passing while surrending 159 and 215 per outing. The Jimmies are getting outscored 34-17 on average.

Jordan Mann has completed 87-171 passes for 974 yards and nine touchdowns against six interceptions. Jimmy Hatch has run for 394 yards on 105 carries for a 3.8 average and has three touchdowns. Allen Jevning has 70 rushes for 312 yards. Barry Williams has caught 17 passes for a 12.2 average and has two touchdowns. Marcus Giles has 14 catches for a 16.9 average and has two touchdowns.

Caleb Ellingson leads the team with 43 solo and 39 assisted tackles and has 10 tackles for loss with one sack. Ben Steinolfson has 24 solo tackles and Bisherie Steward has 17 tackles. Ross Monson and Cedric Terry each have two interceptions this season.

Jamestown scored a touchdown with 10:34 remaining in the game with Briar Cliff on October 6 and held on as Briar Cliff had a touchdown with 4:53 but failed to convert on the two-point try to tie the game and Jamestown secured its first GPAC win with a 34-32 decision. Briar Cliff outgained Jamestown 473-383. Jimmy Hatch ran for 48 yards and Josiah Cage 45 in the win and Mann completed 17-24 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns. Dordt scored on its first five possessions and took a 50-23 decision from Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday. Dordt ran for 228 yards and limited Dakota Wesleyan to 68 on the ground. Dordt got 94 yards rushing from Keithen Drury with a touchdown and Brock Lamle had 47 yards rushing and 217 in the air with 10 completions. Jungling had seven catches for 142 yards and a score to go with 31 yards rushing. Casey Byker had 11 tackles and Jalen Placide had seven. Kacmarynski and Byker each had an interception and Dordt recorded three quarterback sacks.

Dordt is scheduled to host Briar Cliff on Saturday, October 27 before going to Morningside for a game the first Saturday in November.
