Yankton, South Dakota — The Dordt men’s basketball team will travel to Yankton, South Dakota to face Mount Marty at 3:45 on Saturday, January 1.
The Lancers are 4-13 overall and 0-8 in league play. Mount Marty won three of its first four contests this season from October 23-November 2. From November 6-December 11 the Lancers lost 12 in a row before ending the skid with a December 17 win over Waldorf.
Dordt has an 11-4 record overall and stands 3-3 in league play. The Defenders have won five of their last six since back to back losses to Morningside and Concordia.
Bryce Coppock leads the Defenders with a 17.5 points per game average and he has made 23 three-point shots with 4.1 rebounds. Jacob Vis adds 16.3 points per game with 7.6 rebounds and is converting 59 percent of his field goal tries. Cade Bleeker scores 12.9 points per game and has made a team high 31 three-point shots. Luke Rankin is good for 10.7 points per game and Jackson Louscher’s average is 7.3. Rankin is averaging 5.4 assists per game and tops the team with 19 steals.
Dordt is averaging 85.3 points per game while allowing 71.5 and the Defenders outrebound teams 38-33. Dordt is also converting 51 percent of its field goals while allowing 43.
Dordt will be off until January 7 and 8 when the Defenders face Hastings and Jamestown at home on back to back dates.
