Dordt Men’s Basketball Tangles With Morningside Wednesday

Sioux City, Iowa — The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team will travel to Sioux City, Iowa to face the Morningside Mustangs on Wednesday, November 17 at approximately 7:45 following the women’s contest.

The Mustangs are 3-1 this season with wins over Peru State (83-56), Graceland (74-70) and Dakota Wesleyan (74-57). Morningside lost to Olivet Nazarene (87-83) on November 5 and the Mustangs have won two in a row.

The Defenders are 6-1 this season and have won six in a row since a season opening overtime loss to William Penn.

Dordt is outscoring teams 88.9-69.1 and outrebound teams 41.9-32.6. The Defenders are converting 52.5 percent of their field goals and limit opponents to 39.2 percent success.

Bryce Coppock scores 15.7 points per game and gets 5.0 rebounds while Cade Bleeker is scoring 14.1 points per game with 3.1 rebounds and he is converting 40 percent of his three-point shots. Jacob Vis adds 14.0 points per game with 7.2 rebounds and he has 16 blocked shots. Luke Rankin is good for 13.3 points per game with 6.3 assists and Camden Bialas is adding 8.4 points per outing with 4.9 rebounds. Jackson Louscher, Caleb Harmsen and Trey Hinote score 6.7, 5.1 and 5.0 points per game.

Dordt will host Concordia on Saturday and travels to Briar Cliff on Tuesday, November 23.

Morningside is scheduled to play Doane on November 23 in Crete.
