Dordt College hosts a GPAC game with Concordia on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1:00.
Concordia is 2-1 this season with a 1-1 conference mark with a win over Jamestown and a loss to Midland. Concordia also has a 27-20 win over Buena Vista. The Bulldogs have been outgained on average 385-242 and have been outscored 68-48. Concordia runs for 131 yards and passes for 111 while surrendering 145 on the ground and 240 in the air.
Ryan Durdon leads the ground attack with 389 yards on 68 carries with four touchdowns. No one else has more than 25 carries this season. Jake Kemp is 33-61 passing for 301 yards with two interceptions and two touchdowns. Kemp’s favorite target is Arthur Anderson with 13 catches for 103 yards and two scores. Vincent Beasley has nine catches for 113 yards.
Alan Sharp is 4-6 on point after tries and Concordia has not attempted a field goal through three games. Brady Fitzke has punted 20 times and has a 40.1 average.
Lane Napier leads the Bulldog defense with 40 total tackles and has three sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. Zach Walter has 26 tackles and a sack and Kordell Glause has two sacks. Concordia has a total of eight quarterback sacks and Davonte Mouton has the team’s only interception.
The Defenders are 2-1 this season after a 55-17 win over Hastings on Saturday to get to 1-1 in the GPAC.
Dordt has outscored teams 137-81 through three games. The Defenders are averaging 490 yards of offense with 306 rushing and 175 passing. Levi Schoonhoven has run for 311 yards and Keithen Drury has run for 195 yards. Brock Lamle is 28-63 passing for 525 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions. Lamle has also run for 110 yards on 23 carries. Levi Jungling has 11 catches for 241 yards with one score and Jake Dodge has five catches for 51 yards. Matthew Oh-Slack have four catches each for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Casey Byker has punted 12 times for a 34.9 average and Brett Gaines is 4-4 on field goals with a long of 34.
Connor Bosma has been in on 27 tackles while Nathan Kabongo has 20 with an interception and Byker has 20 tacckles with two for loss. Julius Buchanan has five tackles for loss and he and Tyson Dahlgrin have 2.5 sacks each to lead the team. Jordan Weiland has 19 tackles with an interception.
Concordia lost a 35-7 decision to Midland on Saturday in Seward with Arthur Anderson scoring on a one yard pass from Jake Kemp in the third quarter with his team down 21-0 at the time. Durdon ran for 86 yards on 11 carries and Kemp completed 15-30 passes for one touchdown and 163 yards. Beasley and Anderson each had five catches for 63 and 69 yards. Walter and Napier had 11 and 10 tackles each with Napier recording a sack.
