Dordt Volleyball Clashes With DWU Tuesday

Mitchell, South Dakota — Dordt travels to Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota for a junior varsity/varsity doubleheader with the first match starting at 6:00 and the varsity match to begin at 7:30.  The contests will be played on the Wesleyan campus at the Christen Athletic Center in the Fosness Arena.

The Tigers have continued their steady ascent in recent seasons in the GPAC standings and have had a break through early in the year with a 6-3 conference mark and a 16-5 overall record. The Tigers have lost three in a row to Dakota State, Jamestown and the College of Saint Mary and are 2-4 in their last six matches since September 24.

The Defenders are 12-5 this season and stand 4-4 in the league and have won back to back matches. Dordt has a slight 12.4-12.2 kills per set advantage with a .193 kill efficiency and Dordt has an 84-65 ace serves advantage and total 2.1 points off of blocks while surrendering 1.7.

Corrina Timmermans leads the team with 3.7 kills per set and she gets to 2.4 digs while accounting for a team high 26 ace serves. Jessi Franken and Alli Timmermans average 2.6 and 2.5 kills per set with Timmermans at .302 for her kill efficiency. Grace Langemeier is good for 1.44 kills and Erica Bousema tops the team in digs with 5.8 per set. Megan Raszler accounts for 6.3 assists per set and Campbell Marshall 4.6.

Dordt will host Mount Marty and the College of Saint Mary this weekend on Friday and Saturday while Dakota Wesleyan is scheduled to face Mayville State on Wednesday night and will host Hastings and Doane on Friday and Saturday.
