Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt is scheduled to host Grand View on Tuesday, September 7 with the junior varsity match at 6:00 and varsity play to start at 7:30 pm at the DeWitt Gym on Dordt University’s campus.
The Dordt Defenders are 6-0 this season and stand 2-0 in GPAC play with a pair of league wins over Briar Cliff and Morningside. Dordt has been idle since their win over Briar Cliff on Wednesday, September 1.
Dordt has a 13.71-11.48 kills per set advantage and average 2.0 points per set on blocks while allowing 1.67. Dordt has a slight 26-24 ace serves advantage.
Corrina Timmermans leads Dordt with 4.05 kills per outing and she also gets 2.0 digs per set.
Brenna Krommendyk averages 3.05 kills with a .338 kill efficiency and she gets 1.14 points per set on blocks.
Jessi Franken accounts for 2.86 kills per set and nearly a block per set.
Megan Raszler has a 6.43 assists per set average with 2.38 digs per outing and she leads the team in ace serves with six. Campbell Marshall handles the other half of the setting responsibilities with a 5.05 assists per set average.
Erica Bousema leads the team with 6.1 digs per set and Mia Gamet and Makenna Kooima each have 3.19 digs per outing.
The Vikings, based in Des Moines, Iowa, haven’t ducked any challenges this season and have a 4-7 records after starting the year with an 0-7 mark with losses to five rated teams and another that is receiving votes. Grand View has bounced back from the seven match losses to beat the University of Saint Francis, Columbia, Hastings and William Jessup.
The Vikings average 12.26 kills with a .139 kill efficiency and 37 service aces this season. Grand View also averages 17.9 digs with 1.8 points per set off of blocks.
Dordt will travel to play in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11. The Defenders will face Carroll (Montana) and Viterbo on Friday and will play UM-Dearborn and Rocky Mountain on Saturday.
Dordt is scheduled to travel to Jamestown on September 15 and will play exclusively conference matches from there on out.
