Sienna Moss, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
“Sienna has continued strong volleyball growth in each season she’s played. She will provide great depth for us in the middle position. We are grateful for these coaches who have worked to help her get to this point in her volleyball career: Tammi Veerbeek, Mindy DeJager, Haley Boersma, and Kayla Bartman. Sienna has a wonderful future ahead in our volleyball program as she continues to grow in her walk with the Lord while living The Defender Way. She is a wonderful fit for our campus and community,” said Dordt volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Moss ended her career at Western with 519 kills and 204 blocks. She totaled 229 kills in 2020 in helping Western to a berth in the Class 2A State Semifinals and she was in on 72 blocks with a .264 kill efficiency in 2019 when Western won its second of back-to-back state titles. She had 176 kills in 2019 and 114 kills as a sophomore in 2018. Moss was named a first-team all-conference and all-district member in 2020 and claimed honorable mention all-state honors. She also took academic all-state and all-conference accolades. She’s listed as a 6-0 middle blocker.
“I chose to commit to Dordt University because I love how Dordt applies faith to each area of life and I want to experience that. One of the biggest reasons I want to be a Dordt student is because of the Christian education. I love the fact I can pursue my career goals and at the same time continue my passion for volleyball,” said Moss.
Sienna is the daughter of Kevin and Betty Moss of Boyden, Iowa. She plans to study Social Work at Dordt.
