Dordt Volleyball Hosts Pair Of GPAC Matches Friday And Saturday

Dordt will play a pair of GPAC matches on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17 against Hastings and Doane. The Friday night match is a 6:00/7:30 JV/Varsity doubleheader while the Saturday match will be varsity only match starting at 4:00.

Hastings is 4-2 overall this season and 3-1 in the GPAC. The wins for the Broncos in league play are over the College of Saint Mary, Midland and Doane and the loss is to Concordia. Hastings has not played since September 23 when they beat Doane.

The Broncos are averaging 12.08 kills per set with a .204 kill efficiency. The Broncos are averaging 3.17 blocks per set and allow 1.62. Lucy Skoch leads the team with a 3.08 kills per set average with a .245 kill efficiency while Emily Krolikowski is good for 2.62 kills per contest and a .254 kill efficiency. Marlee Taylor also averages 1.92 kills per outing. Claire Thede and Makenna Asher are averaging 4.43 and 6.04 assists per set. Ireland Currey has a 4.35 digs per set average to lead the Broncos and she also has 10 service aces. Sydney Mullin and Skoch are the leading blockers at the net with a 1.27 and 1.35 per set average.

Doane is 3-5 this season and 1-5 in the GPAC. The Tigers have a 3-1 win over Moutn Marty to their credit on September 9. After that the Tigers have lost five in a row to the College of Saint Mary, Concordia, Midland, Hastings and Briar Cliff.

The Tigers average 11.24 kills per contest with a .148 kill efficiency. Doane is even with opponents in ace serves with 41 for and 41 allowed and teams are getting 2.11 points per set from blocks while allowing 1.58. Kennedy Scheele averages 2.48 kills per outing while Genna Ryan-Piasecki is at 2.41. Ryed Creek adds 2.24 kills per set. Jaime Renshaw puts up 9.28 assists per set and Scheele leads the team with 12 service aces.

The Defenders are 6-5 overall and 5-5 in the league after falling to Morningside 3-1 and Midland 3-0 in their last two outings.

Dordt is averaging 12.97 kills per set with a .237 kill efficiency and have a 43-35 ace serves edge. The Defenders also record 2.61 points per set on blocks while allowing 12.3 kills per set with 1.3 blocks per outing.

Brenna Krommendyk and Jessi De Jager each average 2.63 kills per set and have kill efficiencies of .397 and .324. Krommendyk also accounts for 1.24 blocks per outing. Karsyn Winterfeld’s kill average is 2.5 and she gets 2.7 digs. Alli Timmermans puts down 2.4 kills per contest with a .364 kill efficiency. Megan Raszler and Corina Beimers account for 7.58 and 4.62 assists per set respectively and Corrina Timmermans has a team high 14 ace serves with 2.37 digs per contest. Hannah Connelly leads the team with 4.74 digs.

The Defenders will travel to face Briar Cliff on Tuesday, October 20 in their next action before going to Yankton on October 23.
