Dordt Volleyball On The Road This Weekend

Dordt will travel to face Hastings and Doane on Friday and Saturday, October 22 and 23. The matches against Hastings begin with junior varsity at 6:00 and varsity at 7:30 and the Saturday matches with Doane start with junior varsity play at 3:30 and varsity action at 5:00.

The Broncos are 14-10 this season and 5-7 in GPAC play and stand 8-1 in home matches.

Doane is 18-7 this season and 6-6 in league play. The Tigers are 3-3 in their last six matches and lost two matches this past weekend to Jamestown and Dakota Wesleyan.

The Defenders are 13-7 this season and 5-6 in league play and are 4-4 at home, 3-3 on the road and 6-0 in neutral site contests.

The Defenders averaging 12.3 kills per set with 12.2 given up and the Defenders have a .192 kill efficiency while recording 2.17 blocks per set and give up 1.68 points per set on blocks. Dordt has a 101-79 service ace advantage this season.

Corrina Timmermans is averaging 3.59 kills per set with a .199 kill efficiency and he has 2.26 digs per outing. Jessi Franken is averaging 2.6 kills per outing with a .233 kill efficiency and Alli Timmermans is at 2.5 kills. Erica Bousema gets up 5.55 digs per set and Franken is the team leader in active players with jut under a block per outing. Makenna Kooima and Mia Gamet average 2.3 and 2.4 digs per set and Gamet has 18 ace serves this year while Corrina Timmermans is the team leader in ace serves with 26.

Dordt will be on the road to face Northwestern on Wednesday night, October 27 before closing out the home portion of the schedule against Midland on Saturday, October 30.
