Dordt will play a GPAC match on Wednesday, October 7 against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa beginning at 6:00 with the junior varsity match and the varsity match is scheduled for a 7:30 start.
Morningside is 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the GPAC. The Mustangs have conference wins over Briar Cliff (twice) and Dakota Wesleyan and losses to Dordt, Dakota Wesleyan, Jamestown and Northwestern. The Morningside Mustangs is averaging 13.11 kills per set with a .205 kill efficiency. The Mustangs have allowed 41 service aces while getting 36 aces as a team. Teams have averaged 2.24 blocks against Morningside while getting 1.05 points per set on blocks.
Krista Zenk averages a team high 4.18 kills per set and Kaelyn Giefer is averaging 3.05 kills per set with Caitlin Mackovicka records 2.6 per set. Sabrina Creason puts up 11.05 assists per set and she has five service aces. Kayla Harris is the top digger with a 5.71 average and Zenk is at 4.05.
The Defenders are 6-3 overall and 5-3 in the league after stopping a three-match losing skid with a 3-0 win over Northwestern on Monday night.
Dordt is averaging 13.03 kills per set with a .236 kill efficiency and have a 40-21 ace serves edge. The Defenders also record 2.71 points per set on blocks while allowing 11.6 kills per set with 1.45 blocks per outing.
Karsyn Winterfeld leads a balanced Dordt attack with 2.74 kills per set and she also gets to 2.58 digs per set. Jessi De Jager knocks down 2.55 kills per set with a .318 kill efficiency and Brenna Krommendyk is good for 2.48 kills with 1.19 blocks per outing. Corrina Timmermans averages 2.13 kills per outing with a 2.42 digs per set average and she leads the team in ace serves with 13 this season. Jori Bronner is at 1.6 kills with a .354 kill efficiency. Megan Raszler puts up 7.23 assists per set and Corina Beimers was averaging 4.9 assists per outing but has not played since Friday night, September 25. Hannah Connelly tops the team with 4.68 digs per set.
Dordt will travel to Midland on Saturday, October 10. The junior varsity match starts at 3:30 and the varsity is starting at 5:00. Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17 against Hastings and Doane.
