Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt will host Concordia on Wednesday, February 3 at 6:00 pm.
The Concordia Bulldogs are 14-7 this season and 13-5 overall and have won four of their last five games. Since December 12 the Bulldogs have lost two games by a combined seven points to Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside.
Taylor Cockerill leads the Bulldogs with a 14.3 points per game average and she is converting 40 percent of her shots. Taysha Rushton is the only other Concordia player averaging double figures with a 13.4 points per game average and she leads the team with 46 made three-point baskets. Taylor Farrell is good for 8.0 points and she has made 34 three-point shots as has Mackenzie Koepke. Koepke is scoring 7.6 points per game with 5.1 rebounds. Cockerill is the team’s leading rebounder with a 6.4 average and she has 63 assists and 25 steals.
Dordt is 12-9 this season and 11-7 in the GPAC after a loss to Northwestern last week.
Dordt is outscoring teams 71.3-66.1 and outrebound teams 44.3-34.6. Dordt converts 40.1 percent of its field goals while allowing teams to make 37.8 percent. Dordt also has made 33.1 percent of its three-point shots while opponents have made 32.5 percent.
Ashtyn Veerbeek is scoring 15.0 points per game while grabbing 9.7 rebounds per contest and she is making 46 percent of her field goal attempts and she is averaging 2.5 assists. Erika Feenstra is good for 12.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds while converting 46.8 percent of her field goal tries. Karly Gustafson adds 11.2 points per game and she makes 53.6 percent of her field goals and she takes in 6.4 rebounds. Mya Chmielewski and Bailey Tetzlaff add 5.3 and 4.9 points per game respectively. Tetzlaff has 21 steals and Jordyn Winterfeld has 20. Veerbeek is the team leader in three-point baksets made with 31 and a total of eight Defenders have 11 or more three-point baskets made this season.
Concordia fought off a Dordt rally and won 73-62 on November 21 in Seward, Nebraska. Bailey Beckman had 16 and Erika Fensra 14 before fouling out. Dordt converted 10 free throws while Concordia made 22-32. Dordt got to the free throw line 15 times. Concordia was led by Rushton with 15 and Riggins came off the bench to add 12.
Dordt will host the College of Saint Mary on Saturday, February 6 before traveling to face Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday, February 10.
