Dordt Women Host DWU

Dordt will host Dakota Wesleyan on Thursday, December 31 at 3:00 pm in GPAC women’s basketball.

Dakota Wesleyan is 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the GPAC after a December 22 win over Hastings. The Tigers have secured back to back wins in GPAC play after losing three in a row from December 9-16 to Northwestern, Jamestown and Morningside.

Haidyn Pitsch leads the team with a 14.2 points per game average and she averages 4.1 rebounds per game. Matti Reiner puts in 11.9 points per game with 6.7 rebounds and Jada Campbell’s average is 10.0 points per game with 7.7 rebounds. Campbell is converting 46.7 percent of her field goal attempts. Korynn Clason adds 6.4 points per game and she has played in seven games while Haylee Mork has a 5.7 points per game average.

Dordt is 6-6 this season and 5-4 in the GPAC and won four out of five games going into the Christmas break.

Dordt is outscoring teams 71.3-69.6 and outrebound teams 45.0-34.6. Dordt converts 39.6 percent of its field goals while allowing teams to make 39.2 percent. Dordt also has made 31.8 percent of its three-point shots while opponents have made 34.8 percent.

Ashtyn Veerbeek is scoring 14.2 points per game while grabbing 9.5 rebounds per contest and she is making 47 percent of her field goal attempts and she is averaging just over two assists per game. Bailey Beckman scores 13.7 points per game with just under three assists per game and she leads the team with 17 steals. Erika Feenstra’s scoring average is 12.8 points per game and her rebounding average is 5.5 and Karley Gustafson adds 10.1 points per game and she makes 56 percent of her field goals and she takes in 6.9 rebounds. Mya Chmielewski and Bailey Tetzlaff add 6.8 and 5.3 points per game.

Dordt will host Midland on Saturday at 2:00 before traveling to Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday, January 6.
