Dordt Women On The Road For Wednesday Night Test

Omaha, Nebraska — Dordt will travel to Omaha, Nebraska to face the College of Saint Mary Flames on Wednesday night, January 19 starting at 6:00.

The Flames enter play with a 10-8 overall mark and a 4-7 conference record and have lost two in a row and six of their last seven since a December 1 win over the Defenders. The win over the Defenders made the Flames 9-2 at the time.

Dordt is 14-6 overall and 7-5 in the conference and has won seven games in a row including five GPAC contests.

The Defenders are outscoring teams 74.5-66.9 and outrebounding teams 39.1-35.0. Dordt is converting 42 percent of its field goals while limiting opponents to 40 percent and Dordt is converting 76 percent of its free throws while making 334-438.

Ashtyn Veerbeek is scoring 18.3 points per game with 9.3 rebounds and Bailey Beckman’s average is 11.4 points per game. Beckman has made a team high 35 three-point shots and Veerbeek has converted 51 percent of her field goal attempts. Karly Gustafson is good for 10.8 points per game and Janie Schoonhoven makes 8.4 points per game with 6.0 rebounds. Hayden Heimensen and Mya Chmielewski each contribute eight points per game and three different players average over two assists per game.

The Flames are at Briar Cliff on Saturday while the Defenders will host Midland.
