Des Moines, Iowa — Dordt University makes the short trip to Des Moines, Iowa, for a non-conference game against Grand View on Thursday, Oct. 28. Tip-off at the Dave Sisam Arena is scheduled for 5:30pm.

Bailey Beckman chipped in 15 points, draining 3-of-6 three-pointers, and Janie Schoonhoven added 12 points and seven rebounds in her collegiate debut.

Dordt was picked third out of 12 teams in the GPAC preseason coaches poll.

The 2020-21 season saw the Defenders finish tied for fourth in the GPAC with a 14-8 record and lose to the Chargers in the conference quarterfinals for a 15-11 overall record. Four starters return from last year’s squad, led by All-American Ashtyn Veerbeek. Karly Gustafson (2nd team all-conference) and Bailey Beckman (Honorable Mention all-conference), along with Chmielewski, also return.
