Dordt XC Women 11th; Brooks Earns All-American Honors

Sioux Center, Iowa — Led by Audrey Brooks’s top-10 finish the Dordt College women’s cross country team claimed 11th at the NAIA National Championship run at Vancouver, Washington on Saturday, November 18.

Brooks ran a 17:42 for eighth place overall as the Defenders totaled 391 points and tied with The Masters and took 11th in the tiebreaker as Dordt’s sixth runner was nearly 100 spots in front of The Masters’ sixth participant.

Brooks was the first GPAC runner in after placing second at the GPAC Championships two weeks ago.

Brooks earns NAIA-All American status with her finish.  Her finish is the best by a Dordt women’s runner at the NAIA National Championship. Her time was six seconds out of a top-5 finish.

Dordt’s 11th place finish out of 36 teams matches their 2016 finish.

Dordt’s 2-5 runners were separated by 28 seconds.

338 runners competed in the field.
