Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held March 22-28, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Track Events – Matthew Van Eps, Dordt University
Matthew Van Eps of Dordt University is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Van Eps, a senior from Prinsburg, Minnesota, posted a stadium record time of 1:52.65 in the 800 meters which met NAIA “B” standard and is the top time in the GPAC and NAIA. He was also part of the 4×400 relay team which established a stadium record (3:17.04) which is the top time in the GPAC, the NAIA and met NAIA B standard.
