Des Moines, Iowa — Drake football coach Todd Stepsis says the pandemic has taught his players to never take anything for granted.
After having the fall season canceled the Bulldogs open a six-game spring season on Saturday by hosting Pioneer Football League favorite the University of San Diego.
Stepsis says a lot of seniors who would have been there in the fall are not on the spring roster.
At first Stepsis was skeptical of what a spring season would look like but now sees it as an opportunity to promote the program. The school will allow fans in Drake Stadium.
