Austin Faber, a senior at Sioux Center High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.
Faber had a nine-hole average of 45 as a junior and an average of 86 on 18 holes. His low rounds of the year were 40 and 84 respectively. Faber was part of a team that finished second in the Siouxland Conference and first in the district while qualifying for the Iowa State Golf Tournament where the Warriors finished seventh.
“Austin is the type of student-athlete that will thrive at Dordt University. He brings a very positive golf IQ into the Dordt golf program and should grow into a leader on the team. We are thrilled to have Austin join Defender Nation in 2020,” said Dordt golf coach Mark Christians.
Austin is the son of Mike and Karri Faber of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Special Education.
“I chose Dordt University because it felt it was a great place for me to grow in my faith. I also felt like I will be able to use my faith through academics, golf and choir,” said Faber.
