Former B-H/RV Nighthawk lands on NFL top 100 list of players

Rock Valley, Iowa – Former Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley standout and Rock Valley native Andrew Van Ginkel has been named as a top 100 player by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA)

According to NFL Network and the Minnesota Vikings, who Van Ginkel plays outside linebacker for, Van Ginkel has been named the 88th-best player in the NFL. Van Ginkel made two trips to the end zone in 2024 on pick-sixes and one of which was against future Hall of Fame and current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and he’s just made his first career landing in an “NFL Top 100” list.

 He joins teammate Aaron Jones, Sr., who was liusted as the 98th-best player last week. Launched in 2011, “NFL Top 100” is an ordering of the league’s top players by their peers in the NFLPA.

Van Ginkel started all 17 games, recording career highs of 79 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks. He also tallied 19 quarterback hits for the third time in his six NFL seasons as he also played with Dolphins from 2019 to 2023.

His accolades with the Vikings last season earned him is first Pro Bowl nod as well as being named All-Pro by the Associated Press.
