Franken To Join Dordt Track

Logan Franken, a senior at Unity Christian High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and field program.

“We are thrilled that Logan has decided to attend Dordt University and join the Defender track and field program. Logan is an excellent sprinter who will improve the quality and depth of our sprint group. He is the type of athlete that will contribute at high levels and help to give our team strength in the shorter sprints as well. We are looking forward to seeing how he develops as a college sprinter,” said Dordt coach Craig Heynen.

Franken competed in the sprints for Unity in 2018 and 2019 while the 2020 season was canceled. He has personal bests of 11.68 in the 100 meters and was a part of a state qualifying 4×400, sprint medley and distance medley team in 2019 and a 4×200 team in 2018.

Logan is the son of Arlin and Lou Ann Franken of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Accounting at Dordt.
