Defender Men At Home Saturday

Dordt will host Hastings on Saturday, December 12 at 4:00 pm in men’s basketball.

Hastings is 3-7 overall and 0-6 in the GPAC and have lost five in a row dating back to November 18. The Broncos lost a four point decision to Dakota Wesleyan on the road on November 21 otherwise the games have been decided by nine point or more. Hastings’s non-conference loss was a 94-90 loss to Tabor.

Hastings is scoring 84.9 points per game and allow 85.8 points per contest while getting outrebounded 40-7.36.4. The Broncos shoot 46.9 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from the three-point line. Opponents are converting 45.2 percent from the field and 33.7 from the arc.

The Defender men are 7-4 overall and 3-4 in the GPAC. Dordt’s wins in league play are over Briar Cliff, Midland and Doane and the losses are to Dakota Wesleyan, Concordia, Morningside and Jamestown.

Dordt converts 48.3 percent of its field goals while outscoring teams 78.5-74.6 and outrebound teams 38.5-35.7. Opponents make 43.2 percent of their field goals and the Defenders have converted 75 three-point shots.

Garrett Franken scores 15.3 points per game with 7.8 rebounds and he hands out just over two assists per game. Jesse Jansma scores 14.0 points per game with a team high 3.6 assists per game and he is making 45.6 percent of his field goals. Jacob Vis is scoring 12.8 points per game with 7.2 rebounds and he is making 66.7 percent of his field goal tries and has a team high 14 blocked shots. Cade Bleeker adds 10.5 points per game and Bryce Coppock is averaging 7.7. Camden Bialas and Ben Gesink are at 5.7 and 5.2 points per game respectively. Jansma has made 18 three-point shots while Bleeker and Coppock have 15 and 16 respectively.

Dordt will host Northwestern on Wednesday, December 16 before traveling to Mount Marty in Yankton to conclude the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule.
