Friday marks week seven of the high school football season. On KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7 Sheldon is back home hosting state ranked West Lyon. Boyden Hull Rock Valley is back home as well hosting state ranked Bishop Heelan.

West Lyon is 6-0 on the year and ranked # 2 in the state in Class 2A. They are 3-0 in the District coming off a win at Cherokee. Sheldon is 2-4 on the year and 0-3 in the district after a road loss at Western Christian.

Orab Head Coach Andy Cooper on the Wildcats discipline.

This week it will be especially important to stick to the game plan.

The Orabs sheer size impresses West Lyon Head Coach Jay Rozeboom.

The keys to a win for the Wildcats as always revolve around the fundamentals.

Listen for Orab football with the LA and the coach Kory Roos on KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7.

The Nighthawks are 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in the district after a road loss at Sioux Center. They’ll meet Bishop Heelan ranked #9 in the latest 3A poll. The Crusaders come to Rock Valley at 5-1 on the year and 2-0 in the district after a road win at Carroll.

Head Coach Jayme Rozeboom thinks rather highly of Bishop Heelan.

For the Nighthawks it’s a chance to measure up against the Districts best.

The Nighthawks diversity on offense sticks out to Bishop Heelan  Head Coach Jon LaFleur.

The key Friday night is to get contributions from all three phases.

Jon and Justin Hellinga bring you season long coverage of the Nighthawks again this year on KIWA FM 105.3. Pregame for both contests begins at 6:30 with kick off at 7:00. Both games streamed at www.kiwaradio.com. With the Orabs at home there will be a video stream as well.
