Friday Football Broadcast Preview For September 24th

It’s week five of the high school football season and all teams are playing district schedules this week. Both of our broadcast match ups are homecoming games. Sheldon plays host to West Lyon while Boyden Hull Rock Valley celebrates homecoming in Rock Valley.

Sheldon will take a 2-2 record into their game with West Lyon, the #7 ranked team in Class 2A. The Wildcats  also come in at 2-2. The Orabs opened the district schedule with a win at Okoboji last week while West Lyon downed Central Lyon George Little Rock as they hosted this year’s Beef Bowl.

Orab Head Coach Tyler Lloyd sees tonight’s challenge as an opportunity.

The big key to a homecoming win is turn over margin, but there’s more.

West Lyon Head Coach Jay Rozeboom sums up the Orabs this way.

For the Wildcats the biggest key every week is executing the fundamentals.

The coach Kory Roos joins LA for the coverage on KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7 with pregame at 6:30 and opening kick at 7:00.

In a Class 3A district opener #3 Boyden Hull Rock Valley celebrates the Rock Valley homecoming against Carroll. The Nighthawks are off to a 4-0 start with the Tigers coming in at 3-1. Last week the Nighthawks hosted Algona. Carroll picked up a road win at Storm Lake.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt sees a Carroll team coming to Rock Valley on a roll.

For the Nighthawks it will be important to take what’s learned in practice and applying it to Friday night.

Tigers Head Coach Craig Rowedder describes the Nighthawks this way.

The biggest key for the Tigers will be ball security.

Jon and Justin Hellinga continue our season long coverage of Boyden Hull Rock Valley on KIWA FM 105.3 with pregame at 6:30 and kick off at 7:00. Both of our broadcast games will be streamed from the website at www.kiwaradio.com. A video stream of the Orabs can be found on the KIWA Facebook page.
