Fifth ranked Sibley Ocheyedan rolled to a 58-38 win over Sioux Central Friday night in a region semifinal played in Sibley.
With the win the Generals are on to the 2A Region 2 title game Wednesday the 23rd against South Central Calhoun who upset #11 West Hancock by the same 58-38 margin in the lower bracket semifinal. The title game has been assigned to the Estherville Lincoln Central Gym.
Sibley Ocheyedan held a 12-11 first quarter lead but pushed that to a 27-15 halftime advantage. After three it was 47-32 with the Generals going on to win 58-38.
Madison Brouwer led all scorers with 18 points. Olivia Hensch hit four three pointers as part of a 15 point night and dished out 6 assists. They were joined by Marissa Ackerman with 14. Keyton Elser pulled down 12 rebounds. The Rebels were led by Bradi Krager with 11 points and Morgan Christian who added 10 before fouling out with 3:23 to go.
With the win Sibley Ocheyedan is 18-5 on the year. Sioux Central finishes at 14-9. The Generals are a win away from the State Tournament and will go against South Central Calhoun in the Region final on Wednesday night at the Estherville Lincoln Central Gym.
